As part of the curriculum reform towards an improvement of the educational system specified in the Education Sector Plan (PSE), the Ministry of the National Education, through its Direction of Curricula and Education Research (DCRP), developed school curricula at all levels in General Secondary Education (ESG).

Currently, Terminale curriculum and accompanying documents are available and will be implemented over the course of the school year 2020-2021.

It is in this context that a training workshop of trainers was organised by the DERP and supported by SEED Madagascar. The goal was to train the trainers on the use of the new curriculum as well as the accompanying documents of Terminale classes. Once trained, these trainers will subsequently disseminate these new curricula to teachers of public and private schools.

The workshop took place in the Ministry of National Education conference room in Anosy from October 27th to 29th. The DCRP and SEED Madagascar teams facilitated the 3 days sessions. The training was much more of an exchange and sharing rather than a one-sided training.

50 participants were present, including 18 from the science stream, 18 from the literature stream and 12 from the new discipline called the Economic and Social Sciences, Geography and History.
